next kelley polar - electronic with classical Kelley Polar blends electronic music with classical elements, producing danceable, yet friendly tunes that almost anyone can agree on. A student of classical music theory, Kelley studied at a prestigious music school only to be kicked out. Banding together some talented traditional musicians, they formed the 'Kelley Polar Quartet' - releasing some very housey tracks like Maurizio and Parlour Games on label Environ. Around this point in time Kelley decided to return to the country-side and temporarily abandon his desctructive lifestyle in New York. Here is where the recent stylings of Kelley Polar were formulated and laid down. Pushing away from underground-house-style tracks and into more pop-oriented compositions, KP manages to keep you moving while breathing life into the songs with pop-lyrics and catchy hooks. Admitedly taken aback initially at the difference between KPQ's older and KP's newer material, I can say that his new pop style has grown on me. And if Kelley can bring more electronic-dance-oriented styles into the pop field, more kudos to him!
Some tracks you of Kelley Polar worth checking out are Rosenband, Ashamed of Myself, and Vocalise (From Here to Polarity)

posted by [zonabi] in [events ] +view/add comments+ Justice - french DJ band that rocks! The French DJ duo known as Justice, comprised of Gaspard Augé and Xavier de Rosnay, is one of the most attention-grabbing acts in the electronic music scene in quite some time. The huge, strobing christian cross they display front and center at their shows is one of their trademarks. Distorted, grungy, rock-inspired electro beats are their sound. They have been causing waves around the world on their tours, and we were lucky enough to see them live at Coachella '08 this year.
The two who are Justice first got together on a track for Musclorvision's Hits Up To You. But their first big hit was the (still obsessed over) 2003 remix of Simian's "Never Be Alone," which the two had created for a Paris college radio station contest. This track gave them the needed attention which led to them being signed to Pedro Winter's (music alias Busy P) Ed Banger Records. Soon they were working with other artists doing remixes, including FatBoy Slim, N.E.R.D., and Britney Spears.
Production began on their original tracks with the single "Waters Of Nazareth" being their first in 2005. Their debut album, dubbed <<†>> (also known as "Cross") came out in 2007 after the single had been championed by various DJ's and re-released.
<<†>> blew people away with its original (yet familiar sounding) and intense beats. Justice incorporates a heavy rock image in not only their music, but also their appearance and show. As evidenced by the two huge walls of Marshall amplifiers seen at their live shows, they are known to cut and distort guitar and rock sounds and turn them into danceable sounds when coupled with pounding electronic elements. Their style has exploded beyond simply their music, and they have created quite a following. With the help of very talented artists like So Me to help with their artwork and media, Justice has produced some very viral music videos that have been literally obsessed over on the 'net. One video, "Stress" was even banned on various television stations because of its controversial violence depiction. But their more tasteful videos such as "D.A.N.C.E." and "DVNO" have received awards and recognition. Ed Banger Records even has its own unique clothing line.
Their live setup is coveted by most electronic artists, mostly due to its fancy gizmos. Among their confirmed technology are 2x MacBook Pros, 1x Korg MicroKorg, 1x Korg Zero8, 1x Pioneer DJM800, and most importantly 3x Jazzmutant Lemur (most people would die for just one of these). Their visual performance seems to be almost as important as the musical performance, and it is said that one will control the lights and other stage effects (mostly their blinking Cross light) while the other will control the music.

Justice doesn't always perform "live," as sometimes they are known to perform "Dj sets." The main difference between the two is that the live performance entails all the fancy gizmos and light shows (and they perform their own songs) - while the dj sets are them two DJing on Turntables/CDJs various tracks (may or may not be their own songs, probably won't have all the lights etc).
Hard to classify (they labeled themselves as electro-Christian-club) - these two guys are causing some stirs amongst people. Their sound is very peculiar; it can be noisy and piercing at times, then happy and housey at other times. The one common thread is that the music makes you want to move, it demands at least head-nodic movements if not some healthy head-bangin'.
You can get a taste of Justice by visiting the Justice myspace profile , looking them up on Last.fm or iTunes ( click here to buy Justice's <<†>> on ), or ordering their music from a distributor listed on the Ed Banger Records website .
